Interesting take but on the flip side if a person doesn’t drink is he always judged as a health freak or is his individual dislike of alcohol is considered.Since 2020 teetotallers are no longer boring people they are intelligent people who love themselves. The question now becomes does the social output of a drink leads us to outweigh a persons personality?

Worth saying that personality isn't the static element here either. People drift in and out of wanting alcohol for various reasons, but the social read sticks. Even the mocktail, which I love, exists so the non-drinker looks engaged at the table. If opting out were neutral, water would've been enough.

It will be worthwhile to observe this unfold with

Gen-Z as their alcohol consumption is record low amongst any generation. It’s interesting to see our pirate/explorer tendencies of flaunting a drink to still exist through all these cultural hard shifts. I heard this somewhere and it sticks perfectly “ Water changes colors as you climb the Social Ladder”
